Banacado!

In other words “banana and avocado” homemade deep conditioner. It was back to the kitchen and mixing this past wash day. I used a whole medium sized avocado, half a large banana and a tablespoon of sunflower oil; I am really loving this oil. I blended the mixture for a smoother consistency applied to damp hair and then let it sit wrapped under a cling film and scarf for about 45 minutes. Deep conditioning over I rinsed out the banacado shampooed twice with TRESemme naturals and then slightly detangled with conditioner then rinsed out the conditioner.

After rinsing I t-shirt dried for a few minutes like ten, then sprayed on my leave in mix and blow dried. I really don’t like blow drying my hair a lot these days because of how the dry heat from the blow dryer leaves my hair feeling very very dry almost dehydrated. But I had to blow dry so as to get rid of some of the fibre left in my hair from the banacado mix they simply fly away on blow drying. Blow drying done I had to restore moisture back to my hair by moisturizing and it was back to normal, moisture sealed and scalp oiled I then tied it into this puffy bun. I didn’t bother to gel the edges because I wasn’t going to wear the bun for long so I didn’t have the need for sleek edges I just brushed them and helped lay them down with a scarf for a few minutes and that was it.

I am really due for a touch up but I have a family wedding in about 10 weeks and I am yet to decide how I want to wear my hair for it so I may just braid it up or something and then touch up closer to the wedding. Even though I am not sure what style I will be wearing the one thing I am sure of is that I want sleek freshly touched up edges, that’s for sure. It will probably be a sew in weave with a leave out or a fancy sleek bun I am yet to decide. My outfit which I am yet to decide on or buy for that matter will also determine the hairstyle for example if I am going for a halter neck dress I would rather have an updo as opposed to having my hair down  #femalehairproblems #guysjustshaveandgo *sigh*!

  4. That mix looks so creamy. I made the mistake of adding water to mine some time back and the result was just horrible. Anyway, your hair looks nice and full and the waves...yes. Am a sucker for waves :) That last part had me chuckling...decisions decisions
