Two in One

I decided to combine my last two wash days in one post since they were quick ones. Last week’s wash day was a homemade deep conditioner with avocado and honey my hair loved this mix it must have been something to do with the honey. After deep conditioning I shampooed using black silk shampoo after rinsing I t-shirt dried and then air dried moisturized, sealed and did six jumbo braids in readiness for a braid out the next day.

This weeks’ wash day was very simple and I was not in the mood to go through a detangling session because I was out of conditioner; all conditioners how crazy is that everything just decided to be an empty before I was able to go out and replace them but the hair needed to be washed. My scalp was itching so I went ahead and washed my hair in the 6 braids that I usually do for my braid outs so that it wouldn’t be a nightmare considering I was rinse out conditionerless. Since it was quite late at night when I washed I simply t-shirt dried till damp and then let it air dry still in braids before I went to bed. I didn’t do anything else to the hair that night. The next morning it was nice and dry so I went ahead to work on unraveling and detangling each of the braided sections individually applied my leave in mix, oiled my scalp and sealed with coconut oil and then rebraided since I wasn’t going anywhere for a few more hours.

    1. Thanks for stopping by Jacqueline and welcome to my blog:) I don't think I have this particular recipe on my blog; I mashed an overripe medium sized avocado and added about 2 heaped tablespoons of pure honey you can add an oil of your choice if you wish as well. I mixed the two ingredients by hand until well combined and with no lumps but you can blend instead. Be warned though that the avocado will leave fibres in your hair on rinsing but these can be easily blown away by a blow dryer set on cool. I used to strain my mixtures after blending so that I loose the fibre but I still ended up with some in my hair so I gave up on straining. Please check out my homemade deep conditioners page at the top for more recipes. All measurements depend on the length of your hair so its trial and error until you get measurements that work for you.

  2. No conditioner! Oh no! I'd freak out! LOL! I'm still working on trying to get rid of conditioner. I've got products that I've forgotten about because I decided to try something new. Sounded like an easy wash day. I'd love to see your braid out results! :)

    1. Girl I had a mini panic attack! Lol it was not funny at all but I tried to make the best of the situation. I have bottles of shampoo to last me another 6 months but no conditioner lol! Lesson learnt always replace before you completely run out. It was an easy wash day having my hair in the 6 braids really helped. I will remember to take fresh braid out photos next time:)
