Longest wash day ever!

So I just had a three day wash day yep you read right three days of wash day related activities! It’s exhausting just reading that:) A normal deep conditioning wash day for me goes something like this prepoo, shampoo, deep condition, moisturise and it usually takes at least two hours or more depending on whether or not I am pressed for time. I seem to have gotten into the habit of washing in the evening and then deep conditioning the next morning something which started out of fatigue after I had taken out my braids a few weeks back and was too tired to do anything else after washing my hair so I left the deep conditioning and everything else for the next morning and it worked okay. Not this time round!

This is how my three day wash day went:
Thursday: Shampoo wash in the evening (hair was already pre pooed), t-shirt dried, and applied olive oil
Friday: the plan was to wake up really early and deep condition but I over slept and had to postpone that
Saturday: Finally managed to deep condition, after rinsing I t-shirt dried till damp and applied my leave in conditioner as I waited for my hair to fully dry so I could moisturise. Didn’t happen! Got distracted by other events and it got postponed to the next day.
Sunday: Finally managed to moisturise!

I think I will continue with the evening wash next day deep condition routine when I am really tired or not feeling the hop in hop out of the shower life and can’t be asked to do a bucket wash but try to schedule that for days when I don’t have to go anywhere first thing in the morning.

Happy September! Happy birth month to me and all the other September babies!

  1. Wow Lydz! I've not made it past two days for my wash day, but sometimes I get darn near close. Things just happen sometimes. LOL!

  2. I haven't hit the full three day mark yes but it's not fun when I make it to two days either. I swear I need a weekend drop in stylist for wash day. Just come in after I wash, hang out for a bit while I deep condition, rinse and style for me and put me under a souped up dryer after we eat and she can bounce.

  3. That was a long one! I don't think I've gone past 2 days but its been a while since I did that. Am seriously contemplating getting a hooded dryer. That will make my wash days so much easier.

    1. We sure rule!!! That hop in and hop out shower life can be a pain for sure at times like this I really miss having a bathtub it was so much easier just hanging my head over the tub no hop in or hop outs with bathtubs with a detachable shower head
